Susanna Rickard successfully represents Care Quality Commission in appeal

Susanna Rickard represented the CQC in a care home’s appeal, under the Health and Social Care Act 2008, against the decision to cancel the service provider’s registration. Susanna was instructed by Weightmans and judgment was delivered on August 22nd 2014 (Agape House Limited v Care Quality Commission [2014] 2187.EA).
Susanna has appeared in the First Tier Tribunal and the Upper Tribunal in cases involving care home closures and cases under the Mental Health Act 1983. She regularly appears in the Court of Protection and High Court in cases involving medical treatment and the welfare/affairs of persons who lack capacity, and has appeared both led and unled in the Administrative Court.
