Pravin Fernando secures first custodial sentence for Thames Valley Police following breach of a Domestic Violence Protection Order
15th January 2015
Pravin Fernando appeared in this action for a breach of a DVPO which was originally ordered on 15th December 2014. The perpetrator was prohibited from entering an address where his partner lived but went on to breach the order twice. He was fined £50 and £200 respectively on those occasions. Following a further breach, the Court was persuaded that the only suitable solution for breach of the order was a custodial sentence. It awarded the maximum sentence available to it of 2 months. This was the first ever custodial sentence for Thames Valley Police following a breach of a DVPO
