Anthony Haycroft defends dentist in GDC fitness to practise case
31st March 2015
Anthony Haycroft represented a dentist in a 10 day FTP hearing covering substantial clinical failings in a complex implant case ranging from consent to treatment planning and assessment, use of radiographs and poor surgery plus dishonesty. Many failings were admitted and all the clinical aspects not admitted in reliance upon expert evidence from Dr Abi Pal were found not proven. As argued by the defence misconduct was found in respect of both the clinical failings and dishonesty but impairment was only found concerning dishonesty which occurred in “exceptional and distressing” circumstances. The sanction imposed was a reprimand only.
Anthony Haycroft was instructed by Ms Sharon Cooney, Hempsons solicitors instructed by Dental Protection.
