EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE

Angus has been instructed in important public inquiries (such as the Bristol Royal Infirmary Inquiry) and inquests under Article 2, ECHR. He was instructed in the litigation against the Redfern Inquiry into the nuclear industry as detailed below. Chambers & Partners recommends his “particularly keen interest in and knowledge of the Human Rights Act 1998.”

  • Lewis v Secretary of State for Health
    Decision of Mr Justice Foskett as to the basis of disclosure of documents to the Redfern Inquiry into the nuclear industry. Angus successfully represented a doctor summoned to provide material to the inquiry, obtaining declarations from the Court limiting disclosure of confidential medical records to and by the inquiry.
  • Tudor v GMC & Tudor
    Review of decision of GMC not to prosecute.
  • A v X 
    Court of Appeal decision about the effect of Article 8 of the European Convention of Human Rights.
  • P v Wozencroft (Expert Evidence: Data Protection)
    Decision of Mr Justice Wilson relating to claims for access to and rectification of data under the Data Protection Act 1998.
  • R (Antoniou) v Central & North West London NHS Foundation Trust 
    Judicial review proceedings which examined the boundaries of law in respect of the duty on the State to investigate the deaths of those in its control.
  • The Bristol Royal lnfirmary lnquiry 
    Angus represented the main paediatric cardiac surgeon, James Wisheart, at the Bristol Royal Infirmary Inquiry chaired by Sir Ian Kennedy.
