Girl left disabled after blunders during birth at Salford Royal hospital is given £6.5m care package payout

Chris Johnston QC acted on behalf of the claimant instructed by Sarah Harman at Hodge Jones and Allen in a case where a seven-year-old girl was left disabled after she was born at Salford Royal Hospital. A compensation package worth more than £6.5m has been awarded to the girl who suffered brain damage due to a delay in her delivery at the hospital in 2006. The trust accepted liability and has agreed to a damages package, including a £2.9m lump sum and annual, index-linked and tax-free payments to cover the cost of her care for the rest of her life.
