Michael Walsh speaks at the BMA Medico-legal conference 2023

The conference covered the essentials of working competently as an expert witness with Michael presenting on “Effective Courtroom Skills and Communication”.
Michael specialises in all aspects of medical law and is recommended by The Legal 500 as a leading junior in Inquests and Inquiries and Clinical Negligence. He represents Claimants and Defendants in clinical negligence cases covering the full range of value and severity, with particular focus on catastrophic injuries such as birth injuries and amputations. He also acts for the full spectrum of Interested Persons at inquests, and regularly represents clients or sits as an Assistant Coroner, on Article 2 and/or jury inquests involving mental health, health and safety, police, prison, and hospital deaths, and acts in related Judicial Review proceedings. He is often instructed in clinical negligence or coronial cases where there are complex medical issues, and he has particular expertise in mental health. He presently sits as an Assistant Coroner in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire and is a co-author of Serjeants’ Inn’s publication, Medical Treatment: Decisions and the Law.
