Anthony Haycroft successfully defended a GP before a Medical Practitioners Tribunal
30th April 2021
Anthony Haycroft successfully defended a GP before a Medical Practitioners Tribunal in a 4 day case of alleged numerous sexualised comments and conduct including alleged touching of her bottom and breasts. The alleged misconduct was said to have occurred over an 11 year period with a vulnerable patient. The complainant gave evidence as did the doctor.
The MPT found that “Patient A had given inconsistent and vague evidence” whereby “the Tribunal could attach little weight or credibility to Patient A’s recollection of events”. In contrast it found the doctor to be a “credible witness”. It also agreed with the defence that there was no evidence of vulnerability in 17 years of medical records made available to it.
Anthony Haycroft was instructed by Simon Kernyckyj of Radcliffes LeBrasseur Leeds through the Medical Protection Society.
