Elliot Gold and James Berry appear in Independent Inquiry into Child Sex Abuse

The Independent Inquiry into Child Sex Abuse is today commencing two weeks of hearings in its inquiry into institutional responses to the sexual exploitation of children by organised networks.

The Chair Professor Alexis Jay and Panel will explore the current nature of systematic grooming and sexual abuse of children by groups of offenders in England and Wales and institutional responses to that offending.
Elliot Gold is appearing for the Chief Constable of Avon and Somerset Police.
James Berry is appearing for the National Police Chiefs’ Council.
Gerry Boyle QC, Debra Powell QC, David Lawson, Briony Ballard, Edward Pleeth and Aaron Rathmell have been involved in many of the investigations conducted by IICSA.
Most recently, in IICSA’s investigation into institutional responses to sexual abuse of children in the care of Lambeth Council, Gerard Boyle QC and Edward Pleeth acted for the Independent Office for Police Conduct and James Berry acted for a retired Metropolitan Police Service Commander.
