Serjeants’ Inn Chambers recruits, restructures and invests
1st October 2014
Serjeants’ Inn Chambers has appointed a Senior Management Team to run the set to the direction of the joint Heads of Chambers, Angus Moon QC and John Beggs QC. The team is headed by Martin Dyke, Business Director, with Lee Johnson as Senior Clerk and Catherine Calder as Director of Client Care.
While Lee Johnson has worked here throughout his career, Martin Dyke and Catherine Calder are both former solicitors, with over 30 years of working in Bar management roles between them.
We have further extended our clerking and client care teams with Stephen Somerville and Andrew Grosvenor arriving from Outer Temple Chambers and 1 Garden Court respectively.
Angus Moon QC comments “a first class set needs a first class management team; we have combined the commercial, clerking and client care skills necessary to take us forward”.
The new team will manage a set which has risen to over 50 members; it was joined by ten members over the last eighteen months, including 5 tenants from Outer Temple Chambers and, most recently, Elliot Gold from 5 Essex Court.
We moved to new purpose-designed premises in the iconic Lutyens building at 85 Fleet Street last year and are currently investing to the tune of £100k in new IT systems, with a view to providing a cutting edge service to clients and enhanced flexible working conditions for members. We are also developing a new website which will have significant resources for clients.
